There are 613 Mitzvot, things that a Jewish person is supposed to do to observe Judaism. This can get overwhelming if you are not used to it, so here are 10 simple and easy ways to observe Judaism.

1. Charity. The hebrew word for charity is "Tzedakah" which is related to the word Justice. Judaism teaches that when you give charity, you are not only helping someone out, but you are doing the right and just thing. Put a metal can in your house and drop in a coin every day. Then give the money to someone that can use it.

2. Torah Books. To know the way to lead your life, you need to do some reading. Go to your local Jewish bookstore and stock up on some Jewish books. Some basic books are the Tanach (Jewish Bible), Siddur (prayer book)

3. Mezuzah. A Mezuzah is parchment with the Shema written on it. It is hung on the doorpost of ones doors.

4. Shabbat Candles. Friday afternoon, right before sunset like candles for Shabbat.

5. Kosher. You are what you eat, so you want to make sure you eat the right foods. Kosher certified foods are foods whose production is supervised by someone familiar with the Kosher laws.

6. Tefillin. Also known as Phylacteries, these are put on daily (besides for the Shabbat and Jewish Holidays).

7. Mikvah. Immersing in the Mikvah will bring your family life to a new level.

8. Educate your kids. Teach your children about Judaism. Your children are your future.

9. Study Torah. Learn about Judaism. Join a class about Judaism near you.

10. Connect to others. Meet up with other Jewish people.
