COPD is a condition, which can cause complications such as lung cancer, high blood pressure, heart disease, frequent respiratory infections and depression. It is a progressive disease, an incurable and so, care for it is mainly intended to minimize the severity of symptoms, reduce the risk of complications and to allow patients to live an active life. Typically, drugs such as bronchodilators, steroids, anti-inflammatory drugs, etc., used to treat this condition. Oxygen therapy has been found effective to some extent. Lung transplantation can be performed in those with severe symptoms.As mentioned above, COPD is a condition characterized by narrowing of the airways and decreased lung capacity. You can also go to some lifestyle changes like quitting smoking, stick to a healthy diet, exercising regularly, start some relaxation techniques such as, yoga, etc. All these measures, together with proper care can definitely improve chronic obstructive pulmonary survival.Symptoms of COPD can vary according to prominent lung disease in people exposed. It is already mentioned that COPD is a condition, which may involve more than one disease of the lungs. If the disease is prominent emphysema, the patient may experience chest tightness, wheezing and shortness of breath, especially during strenuous physical activity. If chronic bronchitis, chronic cough with yellow sputum, frequent respiratory infections and shortness of breath at a later stage. No other chronic asthmatic bronchitis, chronic bronchitis and asthma combined with this condition have additional symptoms, other than those experienced in chronic bronchitis.
